MOSAICS IN AN AFTERNOON by CONNIE SHEERIN. 112 pages. Paperback. 8 1/2 x 10. All in Color.
Bright and cheerful, the designs of Connie Sheerin feature mixed-media mosaics applied to flea-market finds or wooden bases. With a colorful array of glass and mirror pieces, tiles, marbles, broken pottery, seashells, and buttons, she covers frames, flowerpots, lamps, tables, shelves, bookends, chairs, clocks, and boxes. The pictures are clear and the directions good, and patterns are included wherever necessary.
Sheerin also thoughtfully offers guidelines on two important concepts not always covered in other books on the subject: how to estimate the amount of mosaic materials needed for your own projects (quantities are already given for the ones in the book), and how to transfer designs.
"Explanations are simple and beginners will get results that look so good your friends will never guess how easy the projects were to do unless—you share this book.”—Quick & Easy Crafts
